My Top 6 Resources For First Years
1. Complete Anatomy - Anatomy
I was doubtful when purchasing an app that costs so much, but this has been the most valuble anatomy resource I had. Includes cross sections, AR models, and even interactive radiolyg. 100% worth every penny.
Cost: $59.99
2. UMich Blue Link - Anatomy
Great pictures of cadavers, and their videos on YouTube are a great supplement to learning. They also have great practice questions, and tagged cadaver pictures. Here's the Anki if you prefer that.

3. Dr. Minass - Embryology
Although Dr. Minass doesn't go into as much detail as your professors might, his videos are usually only 10 minutes long and give you the gist of concept in an easy to understand way. He always starts from the beginning so you never feel like you need a lot of prior information before understanding the material.

4. Ninja Nerd - Physiology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, etc.
The holy grail. Honestly, his videos alone can replace the entirety of the preclinical curriculum. Although the videos are long, they are 100% worth it. Any concept you're having trouble with, there's probably a video on his channel dedicated to it. Highly highly recommend.

5. Osmosis - Histology, Anatomy, Biochemistry
I love the illustration method of teaching, it helps me keep engaged with the content a lot more. They do have a Sketchy style teaching method for Pharmacology, but I don't think it's as good as Sketchy itself.
Cost: $159
6. Anki - Flashcards
If you haven't heard of Anki yet, where have you been. Just kidding, it's a flashcard app that uses a concept called spaced repition to help retain information. This has been my go to method of studying throughout my first year. I also recommend getting the phone app which costs $25, doing a few anki's while you wait in line at the coffee shop can really add up.
